What is the In-Hand Salary Calculator?

The KagazKit In-Hand Salary Calculator converts your CTC (Cost to Company) into the actual monthly take-home salary you receive in your bank account. In India, the CTC mentioned in an offer letter includes many components — Basic Pay, HRA, Special Allowances, PF contributions, and taxes — that significantly reduce the actual amount you receive. This calculator breaks down your CTC into every component, deducts PF and estimated income tax, and shows your exact in-hand monthly salary so you can make informed career decisions.

How to Use This Tool

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my in-hand salary so much less than my CTC?

CTC (Cost to Company) includes the employer's contribution to your Provident Fund (12% of Basic), gratuity provisions, insurance premiums, and other benefits that don't appear in your monthly bank credit. Additionally, income tax is deducted at source (TDS) from your monthly salary. These combined deductions typically reduce your take-home to 65-80% of your CTC.

How does the calculator split CTC into components?

The calculator uses standard Indian payroll norms: Basic Pay is typically 40-50% of CTC, HRA is 40-50% of Basic, and the remainder is Special Allowance. PF deduction is 12% of Basic from both employee and employer. The exact split may vary between companies, but this gives an accurate estimate.

Which tax regime should I choose?

If you have significant deductions under 80C (₹1.5L), 80D, HRA, and home loan interest totaling ₹3-4L+, the Old Regime may be better. If your deductions are minimal, the New Regime with its lower tax rates and ₹75K standard deduction is usually more favorable.

Is my salary data stored anywhere?

No. All calculations happen entirely in your web browser. Your CTC, deduction details, and computed in-hand salary are never transmitted to or stored on any server. Your compensation data remains completely confidential.

Can I use this for freelance or business income?

This calculator is designed specifically for salaried employees with a standard CTC structure. Freelancers and business owners have different tax computation methods and should use an income tax calculator or consult a CA for accurate projections.
